Akrani

"Akrani", means dear friend. It comes from the word "akranis" meaning companion, a word we rarely hear today, but found in akritic songs of the Dodecanese. The choice of this name replaces the original Triantafyllopoulou Vineyards. Their story begins in 1996 when they started planting international varieties on 17 acres at the foot of Mount Dikaios, in collaboration with Professor Dimitris Stavrakas. Their first wines were bottled in 2003, while in 2007, after a persistent struggle, they succeeded in having Kos join the Protected Geographical Indications (PGI) of Greece, thus shielding the island's winemaking identity.

Ktima Akrani Red Dry Single Block M is a wine of the protected geographical area of the Miniera area in Kos. Its varietal composition is from 100% Merlot.

Ktima Akrani Dry White comes to us from Kos and is a varied composition of Athiri and Assyrtiko. The management and development of the ecosystem is based exclusively on the principles of Organic Agriculture, while the property is under the status of certification process. The harvest of all varieties will take place on August 4, except for Moschato Alexandria which matures later.

Ktima Akrani Malagouzia Reg. Expressions is another excellent label from Triantaphyllopoulou Winery and the island of Kos. Made from 100% Malagouzia, this label immediately stands out thanks to the experience and know-how of the people of the winery. After the carefully selected grapes of the variety go through the distillation process, they are then separated.

Mountain Aegean grape Athiri fermented - without the addition of resin- and matured in large white pine barrels. Beautiful yellow color with gold and green highlights. Aromas of mastic and botanical notes such as mint, basil and sage. Together with the crisp acidity and medium body they result in a gastronomic wine intended for your food. Enjoy it with salads, fried appetizers, seafood, fish, but also white meat with herbal aromatic sauces.

Beautiful rose color with orange highlights. Aromas of ripe red fruits and sweet spices. In the mouth it has a mild sweetness that does not diminish. The aftertaste is long with beautiful and fine tannins despite being a rose wine. Enjoy it on its own, but I dare say it's a gastronomic semi-sweet rose. It will accompany wonderful Asian recipes with sweet and sour sauces, salads with sweet elements and even barbecues.
