Laguardia is perhaps the most charming of the villages in the area. The plots are high, on average 440 m altitude, but with greater exposure to the Evros valley. Ripening tends to be the earliest among the villages and the wines are more elegant and aromatic. Laguardia is also the most approachable and gastronomic wine, due to its lighter, velvety tannins and juicy and juicy palate. The aromatic profile is always high, delicate and floral, reminiscent of wild strawberries and violets. Great wine to accompany charcuterie such as tsorithos, roast meats, pork and lamb. Jancis Robinson rated it a wonderful 17/20.

Bodeona Bideona is the winery in the heart of Rioja Alavesa, with wines from old vines, plots and towns defined more by origin than by production method. There, they manage more than 300 parcels of excellent vineyards with a high percentage of limestone in Villabuena de Alava, Leza, Banos de Ebro, Laguardia, Samaniego and Elciego, in the foothills of the Sierra de Cantabria. The average age of the vineyards is 50 years and many of them were planted between the 20s and 40s of the last century, before the availability of high yielding clones. The goal is to understand and respect the expression of each city's unique character, without excessive use of new oak or oxidative aging.
