Glenlivet French OAK Reserve 15YRS 0.7L 40%

Glenlivet 15 Year Old has a history dating back to 1800 and is considered one of the finest malt whiskeys in its class. In 1822 it is said that King George IV on an official visit to Scotland asked to drink Glenlivet, leaving the world stunned, as it was then one of the many smuggled spirits in the Speyside area. Of course the owner of Glenlivet, George Smith, did not miss the opportunity to offer him and 2 years later to get permission to distill the whiskey. This label goes through the main stage of its maturation in American and Spanish oak barrels, and then it will be put in selected, French oak barrels, made of limousin oak, the same as that used for the barrels in which Cognac matures.

Due to this special process, the aromas of Glenlivet 15 Year Old are rich, with baked apple, pineapple, vanilla, wood and coconut prevailing, accompanied by strong notes of cinnamon, giving us a spicy feeling from the beginning. The taste will be dominated by cinnamon and clove, with notes of apple and vanilla accompanying them, leading us to a long, spicy aftertaste, where vanilla and coconut will dominate, with cinnamon, wood and clove taking their place later and occupy our palate for a while.
