Mezcal Gusano Rojo is made from 100% agave, and comes to us from Oaxaca of Mexico. Each bottle contains a Maguey worm, the worm that sometimes appears on the agave plant. The story goes that a Gusano Rojo employee, Jacobo Lozano Paez, had the idea to put the worm in the bottle for the first time, in 1940.

The agave distillate is filtered twice and left for at least two months in oak barrels before bottling. Gusano Rojo Mezcal is considered suitable for many cocktails, although you can try it plain with ice and be completely satisfied.
