In 1990 the people of Koskenkorva decided to create a label, Koskenkorva Salmiakki that would have exactly this combination, and so they did. A few months later, the government banned its sale because it had almost the monopoly. In 1995 it was re-released with a lower percentage of alcohol and is the same to this day, having reached the second place in sales. Salty and sweet taste at the same time make it ideal to enjoy in shots or with some ice.
