Laphroaig Select Cask comes from Scotland and its distillery is located at the southern tip of the Islay, in a small bay and was founded in 1810 by the Johnston brothers. Barley, water and yeast are the main ingredients for any whiskey, but according to the founders of Laphroaig, the people behind the process are the secret to a successful whiskey. In the last 10 years Laphroaig sales have increased by 50%, making it the most successful malt whiskey from Islay.

Laphroaig Select Cask does not indicate years of aging, but it is the result of a wonderful mixing of spirits, which have matured in ex-bourbon barrels, olorosso sherry casks and Pedro Ximenej hogsheads, while to complete all this, they mix Laphroaig 10 Year Old with them. It is not as smoky as one would expect considering the character of the distillery and for this reason it is dear to many friends of malt whiskey. Aromas of peat, chocolate, sweet citrus and barley are what we will immediately see in Laphroaid Select Cask, which are accompanied by soft notes of spices. Chocolate, green apple and mint dominate the taste, accompanied by soft notes of lemon and roasted spices, thus leading us to a medium aftertaste with peat and green apple standing out at the beginning and spices dominating at the end and occupy our palate for quite long.
