In July 2016, a new label, Plantation Old Fashioned Traditional Dark (OFTD) was introduced to us. A blend of the company's Jamaica, Guyana and Barbados rum, replacing Plantation's Original Dark Overproof, which was exclusively from Trinidad.

Aromas of mandarin, orange, banana, roasted coffee and molasses, dominate the smell, making us want to taste the Plantation Old Fashioned Traditional Dark (OFTD). The taste of the caramel will be seen quickly and then it will be accompanied by raisins, vanilla and spices, accompanied by notes of oak, cocoa and banana. Plantation Old Fashioned Traditional Dark (OFTD) has a long finish with the plum and cocoa prevailing, accompanied by nutmeg notes, creating a "heavy" rum (due to the high degree of alcohol it has), ideal to enjoy it plain with ice or in a cocktail.
