Cagnulari is a historic wine and one of the oldest wines in Sardinia, but it was never considered noble enough to have a life of its own and there are several reasons why this happened, including the difficulty of growing it. This native vine is exalted expressing its best qualities in the sandstones of the homonymous site of Arenosu, in the area between Alghero and the settlement of Guardia Grande. Cantina Santa Maria La Palma has contributed significantly to its recovery and prominence at national and international level, giving Cagnulari the space it deserves.

Cagnulari is a unique, truly magical wine. It has a deep ruby color, intense aroma of Sardinian night, berries, licorice, balsamic and spicy notes. In the mouth it is warm, with characteristic red fruits such as marasca cherry (morello cherry), with soft tannins, good structure and very pleasant freshness. It is a harmonious and seductive wine with a strong personality. Goes well with medium-aged cheeses, risotto, boiled meats, grilled white and red meats.
