The spirits, which will be used to create this label, will mature for at least 12 years in American ex-bourbon barrels and hand-picked Oloroso Sherry Casks.

It was founded in 1843 in the Highlands of Scotland, with production starting in 1849 and is considered a pioneer in the technique of double maturation of whiskey, in barrels of sherry, port and wine. To create this label, the spirits will mature for 15 years in white, American, oak ex-bourbon barrels and then 30% of them will go into Oloroso sherry casks for about 3 more years, while the remaining 70% will remain in ex-bourbon barrels. Then the spirits will get married and create this great label, the Glenmorangie 18 Year Old.
