Aalborg Taffel Akvavit is made from potatoes and flavored with various spices and herbs. The aromas of fennel and cumin dominate, accompanied by notes of lemon. The aftertaste will dominate the herbs, thus giving it a spicy but at the same time full of freshness feeling. Aalborg Taffel Akvavit was awarded as the best akvavit in the world in 2002 in the International Wine And Spirit Competition. In Denmark it is served in an iced shot and is usually combined with salted herring.
