Citadelle Gin 0.7L 44%

Citadelle Gin was created when the owner of Cognac Ferrand, Alexander Gabriel, was the one who petitioned the cognac council to allow him to use the same vats for gin production. He did this because the AOC legislation allows the production of cognac only 6 months of the year and so the other 6 people were out of work.

When this was accepted Alexander Gabriel started looking for gin recipes and thus found a 1771 recipe by producers Carpeau and Stival, who made gin with juniper and exotic spices, which they brought from the east with the intention of sell in England by packing them in jars. Their distillery was located inside the Citadelle Fort in the city of Dunkirk, hence the name Citadelle Gin. Citadelle Gin is made by direct ignition of the Charentais copper still, which is used by the same distillery to create cognac. It is created with 19 different herbs which will give the gin rich and intense aromas as well as a complex taste, which makes it special. Try it neat with ice and enjoy its rich and complex aromas.
