La Tour Gewurztraminer Alsace 2019 0.75L

The Gewurztraminer from Alsace is recommended to us with a golden yellow color and elegant notes of lychee and rose. It is minimally aggressive on the palate, gourmand and crisp and despite its sugars is well balanced, with notes of rose. Ideal as an aperitif or to accompany some strong cheese and spicy Asian dishes such as duck. It ages easily up to 8-10 years.

Domaine de la Tour Blanche is first and foremost a family affair. Winegrowers from father to son have been carrying on the tradition since 1628 and the current 13th generation still produces its wines in oak barrels dating back 100 to 120 years.

The winery is located in Riquewihr, one of the most exploited villages of Alsace. It is also home to the Grand Cru Schoenenbourg, which produces the most exciting wines of Alsace. Voltaire already had vines on this south-facing slope, which has the most complex geology of all the Grands Crus in Alsace. Sporen also located between Riquewihr and Mittelwhir, is home to great, smoky Gewurztraminer and complex Pinot Gris.
